Focus area: Food manufacturing (small businesses)
Regulator concerned: My comments are general and do not relate to a particular regulator or regulatory function
Comment:
In 2009/10 HSE sponsored a project in the South West of England called Better Regulation in Food (BReiF). The project was carried out by someone from HSE and someone from a SW local authority and the team put a huge amount of effort into collecting input from local businesses as well as local regualtors. The scope is not restricted to health and safety issues. A report was produced in 2010 which I am quite sure we shared with BIS and LBRO although I could not now say to whom we sent copies. If the current review team do not have access to the project report then I would be very happy to send a copy; I don’t see a way of uploading the file to this comments site but if anyone would like to email me then I would be happy to reply with the report attached.
