Food Manufacturing Contribution

Regulator concerned: My comments are general and do not relate to a particular regulator or regulatory function
Comment:
I would like to share our experiences with you on the goings on at a particular District Council whose staff managed to pursue us for a year about us serving Hellmann’s mayonnaise with salad to what we considered a private luncheon at Glastonbury Festival. The Council lady stuck her probe into a decanted jar at a lunch in a marquee on what was the hottest day of the year. The temperature showed 18 degrees. The item and bowl were removed into ‘chemical dangerous waste bags’ and the matter was continued for a year, by which time the file was one inch thick and handed to an Environmental Health Officer from another District Council. The matter was then sorted. Much to my amusement the Environmental Health Officer came to talk about it with protection. The label on the jar says “use within three months of opening” so it must be pretty safe. My defence was they serve it at Buckingham Palace garden parties in similar conditions which outraged the District Council lady even more.
