Comment:
Trading standards checks were carried out on our establishment at 9.30 in the evening on a friday. They were a team of at least 7 strong including police, it was embarassing, due to the large amount of people we had in the public house and resulted in rumours that we water down our spirits, “otherwise why would they come then with so many of them?” we heard people say. An inappropriate and carelessly timed visit that could be done at any time of day and find the same result. It should not be necessary to publicly bully and humiliate publicans in their trading time
